Texas CE Requirements:
Hours Required:
Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Industrial Electrician, Residential Wireman, Maintenance Electrician, Master Sign Electrician, Journeyman Sign Electrician, Apprentice Electrician, and Apprentice Sign Electrician: You must complete four (4) CE hours every year in courses approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The required 4 hours of coursework must address the following:
- National Electrical Code, as adopted under Title 8, Occupations Code §1305.101, or the current version of the National Electrical Code, as approved by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
- Texas Electrician Law (Title 8, Occupations Code, Chapter 1305)
- Texas Electrician Administrative Rules (Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 73)
- Electrical Safety as defined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E
License Renewal Period:
Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Industrial Electrician, Residential Wireman, Maintenance Electrician, Master Sign Electrician, Journeyman Sign Electrician, Apprentice Electrician, and Apprentice Sign Electrician: You must renew your license annually from when your license was issued.

The following courses are pre-approved by the State of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (Board):
- TX 4-HR Texas NEC 2023 and Changes from 2020 (incl. Laws, Rules & Safety)

Provider Pre-approval:

Reporting:
We will report your credit hours to the Board within seven (7) days of course completion.
