Building and General Contractor: You must complete fourteen (14) CE hours every two years. The required 14 hours must be taken from the following:

• 1 hour workers’ compensation
• 1 hour workplace safety
• 1 hour business practices
• 1 hour Florida Laws & Rules
• 1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module course
• 1 hour Wind Mitigation Methodologies
• 1 hour Cementitious cladding, stucco, plastering and lath application and repair methodologies
• Remaining seven (7) hours can be any board approved construction related instruction

Certified Building and General Contractor: You must renew your license on August 31 of every even-numbered year.

 

Registered Building and General Contractor: You must renew your license on August 31 of every odd-numbered year.

The following courses are pre-approved by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (Board):

• FL 1-HR Workers' Compensation (1-hour WC)
• FL 1-HR Workplace Safety (1-hour WPS)
• FL 1-HR Florida Laws and Rules (1-hour L&R)
• FL 1-HR Florida Building Code advanced module (1-hour ADV)
• FL 1-HR Wind Mitigation Methodologies(1-hour WMM)
• FL 8-HR IRC 2024 (8-hour GEN)
