Residential Building Contractor: You must complete six (6) CE hours every year. Areas of instruction may include but are not limited to:

• building or residential construction codes and standards;
• electrical contracting;
• mechanical contracting;
• construction safety, government regulations;
• land use, development, planning and zoning;
• estimating;
• business principles and practices; or
• contracts.

 

Note: If the residential building contractor also holds a valid, current commercial license in one or more of the major classifications of 1) Building Construction; 2) Highway, Street and Bridge Construction; 3) Heavy Construction; 4) or Municipal and Public Works Construction, the six-hour requirement is considered to have been met.
 

Residential Building Contractor: You must renew your license annually by December 31.

• LA 3-HR International Residential Code 2021
• LA 2-HR Construction Safety
• LA 1-HR Industry Related
