South Dakota CE Requirements:
Hours Required:
Plumbing Contractor, Restricted Plumbing Contractor, Plumber, Restricted Plumber, and Third-year Apprentice Plumber: You must complete four (4) CE hours relating to the plumbing trade during the previous calendar year. Of the 4 hours, a minimum of two (2) hours must relate to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) along with significant changes and updates, and the remaining two (2) hours can relate to the plumbing industry or can be additional UPC hours.
License Renewal Period:
Plumbing Contractor, Restricted Plumbing Contractor, Plumber, Restricted Plumber, and Third-year Apprentice Plumber: You must renew your license annually by December 31.
Course Pre-approval:
The following courses are pre-approved by the State of South Dakota Department of Labor & Regulation (Board):
- SD 4-HR UPC 2024 and Changes from 2021 (3-hr Code & 1-hr Non-Code)

Provider Pre-approval:
