Florida CE Requirements:

Hours Required:

Air Conditioning Contractor – Class A, B and CYou must complete fourteen (14) CE hours every two years. The required 14 hours must be taken from the following:

  • 1 hour workers’ compensation
  • 1 hour workplace safety
  • 1 hour business practices
  • 1 hour Florida Laws & Rules
  • 1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module course
  • Remaining nine (9) hours can be any board approved construction related instruction

Mechanical ContractorYou must complete fourteen (14) CE hours every two years. The required 14 hours must be taken from the following:

  • 1 hour workers’ compensation
  • 1 hour workplace safety
  • 1 hour business practices
  • 1 hour Florida Laws & Rules
  • 1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module course
  • Remaining nine (9) hours can be any board approved construction related instruction
License Renewal Period:

Certified Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractor: You must renew your license on August 31 of every even-numbered year.

Registered Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractor: You must renew your license on August 31 of every odd-numbered year.

The following courses are pre-approved by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (Board):

  • FL 1-HR Workers' Compensation (1-hour WC)
  • FL 1-HR Workplace Safety (1-hour WPS)
